Just for today I will not anger
Just for today, I will not worry
Just for today, I will be honest
Just for today, I will be grateful
Just for today, I will show love and compassion to all living things
These are the five principles of Reiki
Discover Usui Reiki, a gentle practice for balance, peace, and healing.
The Japanese Buddhist Monk, Mikao Usui, codified this non-invasive energy healing technique. Reiki works to balance our energy centres and opening our hearts and minds to the gifts of the universal energy.
I am a Reiki Master, initiated into the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition by Grand Master, Deepak Gupta of the Braham Yoga & Wellness Centre in Rishikesh, India.
I am pleased to offer gentle and inspiring Reiki treatments either in person or via distance healing.
Please contact me for further details, or to book a treatment.
What can I expect to happen during a Reiki treatment? During a Reiki treatment, the client remains fully clothed, a light blanket is traditionally placed over the body for added comfort. This may be moved to access different areas as required by the practitioner. Watches and larger pieces of jewellery should be removed as the metal can interfere with the energies. The space, the client, and the practitioner will be prepared for the Reiki session through a combination of breathing exercises, mantra chanting, candles, and incense. On occasion, crystals, essential oils, Tibetan singing bowls, and/or appropriate music may be used.
What tools or products do you use during a treatment? To facilitate a calm and soothing environment, candles may be lit and incense may be burned. If these are not desired by the client, they can be omitted. A blanket may be placed over the client for comfort and to stave off any temporary chills which may be experienced due to the shift in energies.
Is there any physical contact during a Reiki treatment? The Reiki practitioner may apply a gentle touch to various parts of the body during the session. Contact is not, however, necessary. Please advise the Reiki practitioner before treatment begins.
How long is a typical treatment session? A typical treatment is 45 to 60 minutes in duration.
What style of Reiki do you practice? I practice the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. I was initiated as a Reiki Master by Grand Master Deepak Gupta of Braham Yoga in Rishikesh, India.
Where did Reiki originate? Hands on healing is a tradition as old as humanity itself. Reiki, as we know it today, was given structure and formal guidelines by the studies and teachings of the Buddhist Monk, Dr. Mikau Usui in the early 20th century.
What about distance healing? There are no barriers to the healing energy of Reiki, so time and space are not relevant to treatment. Distance treatment sessions can be arranged for yourself, or sent as a gift for a friend or loved one. Some information about the person is, however, necessary: at the very least a name and perhaps a birth date, a photograph would be idea.
Where did you obtain your Reiki Master’s Training and Initiation? I am very fortunate to have studies with and to have received my Reiki Master’s initiation from Grand Master Deepak Gupta, of Braham Yoga in Rishikesh, India.
Where was the photograph of the golden Buddha on this page taken? I took this photo while visiting Japan in 2005. The shrine was located in a serene Buddhist temple in Kobe. The bronze Buddha is my own, I purchased it while trekking through Thailand.
